Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra gave a very blunt answer about how the oddsmakers think his team will fare against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
As Miami takes its 3-1 Eastern Conference finals lead back to Boston for Game 5, Spoelstra was asked about the Heat being the 8-point underdogs for the night’s big game.
A win for Miami would mean that they’d punch a ticket for the 2023 NBA Finals, while a loss would give Boston another game to try and even the series record and force an eventual Game 7.
Well, Spoelstra understandably doesn’t really care what Vegas thinks of his team’s chances in Boston.

Well, there you have it. Spoelstra clearly couldn’t care less about what the oddsmakers give his team, and can you blame him?
The Heat have been a juggernaut throughout the entire NBA playoffs, and it’d make plenty of sense for the team to wrap this series up sooner than later.
Even if betting odds aren’t favoring the Heat on Thursday night, it’d still make sense for the team to come out victorious and win the Eastern Conference.
